. Contest 46 "Moana" is a true example of a very well kept classic blue water cruiser, completely built to Lloyds speicifications. She is still on her first owners who have taken care of her very well over the years. Due to her spacious interior layout with 3 cabins and large heads, she offers a comfortable stay on board for 6 persons. Air conditioning throughout the yacht makes it very comfortable to stay on board in hot weather conditions. In 2011 she received a completely new vacuum glued teak deck with 15mm of thickness. Although she is now 31 years old, she only has 760 nautical miles on her log! in excellent condition She was built in 2000 by Carroll Marine in the USA and campaigned professionally by Team Chessie Racing for 3 seasons (2000-2002). She is perfect for serious handicap offshore or inshore racing in both ORCi & IRC. She is at the hands of her 3rd owner only, all of them dedicated international campaigners; she has always been dry-sailed and kept in immaculate condition. She is a full carbon racing yacht built on an One Design prescription in 2000 from Carroll Marine USA. One Design translates to strong, long lasting, well thought out, unbreakable, all round, fast, no rule compromise and perfectly equipped with Hall carbon spars, Lewmar, Harken, Spinlock, Navtec gear and Yanmar engine. But One Design from Bruce Farr means more than anything else User Friendly. She has always been dry-sailed, spending no more than 60 days per year in the water, the rest on its US made custom cradle. She has been maintained and upgraded rigorously. Nowadays, she sports a 2.05 meter carbon bowsprit, flies 300 sqm masthead spinnakers that are lowered through a new XL bow hatch and hoists a 100+ sqm mainsail with a square top of 1.6m supported by 3 carbon battens/systems that slide on a special glued-on low profile Hall Spars/Antal dual mast groove track that has proved extremely efficient and versatile. The B&G/Ockham electronics package is PC driven, updated and runs Deckman and Expedition tactical software and all info needed is readily available on any smart screen on board through extended Wi-Fi. Navtec Hydraulics for boomvang, outhaul and at the mast step are fully operational and are reliable solutions to control the loads even in gale force conditions like the ones we encountered in 2004, 2007 and 2014 in the Rolex Middle Sea Race.

The Wasa 51 is known for her high level of workmanship, excellent sailing characteristics and is a real "head-turner" on the water! The Wasa 51 is a beautifully lined "slender" vessel that will charm the true sailor, her lines make her a real "head-turner" in any port. Thanks to her long waterline and modest wet surface area, she is a smooth yet comfortable sailor. The cockpit is deep and sheltered, the beautiful wooden steering wheel is a real eye-catcher, both sitting and standing, the helmsman has a beautiful view and the sheets including the backstays within reach, through the below deck autopilot is shorthanded also well feasible. Behind the helmsman is a spacious storage area for fenders, lines or other items.The gunwales and deck have a thick teak deck and long handles on the cabin superstructure. The foredeck is slender and also equipped with an anchor locker. The interior is beautifully finished with many handles for rougher weather conditions and an awful lot of closet space. Immediately upon entering, we find a closet to starboard with shelves and hanging space for sailing clothes, for example. To port is the spacious galley, with several drawers, storage space and stove with double sink with w/k water. Central is the navigation corner, close to the center of the ship, which is the place for the navigator. Here is the navigation equipment such as plotter, vhf, raymarine repeater and possibility for a laptop to connect to the navigation tools such as AIS. The saloon has a cozy seating area with a beautiful teak inlaid fold away dining table. In the bow is again a substantial closet and access to the wet room with shower and toilet. Right in the bow is a double V-bed, which is of modest size due to its slender lines. In the stern, we find a lockable aft cabin on the port side with a sofa, closet space and 1.5/2 bed. On the other side is a sail-covered aft cabin with bunk beds.
