Pre-purchase survey

Why have your boat surveyed?

Congratulations on the planned purchase of your boat! Now’s the time to ensure she is actually in the condition indicated by the seller.

How is the maintenance? Are there any hidden defects and what improvements will be needed? You obviously want everything to be fine and the best way to be sure of a boat’s condition is to employ a HISWA expert.

Preparing for a survey

Here are some things to keep in mind before an expert HISWA surveyor inspects your boat.

  • Try to be present during the survey. An inspection usually takes around half to a full day and it’s good to be on hand to immediately discuss the results.
  • The boat must be easily accessible so the expert can reach everything necessary. For a full inspection it is important that the boat is out of the water. Find a HISWA expert.
