When it comes to electric boats hydrodynamics, water resistance, theoretical hull speed, and water handling play a much more significant role. Many boats are too heavily motorized, which can make them push past their hull speed. This consumes an excessive amount of electricity, which is not ideal for an electric boat. To achieve a comfortable and speedy sailing experience, the boat's length should be its key factor. "Length runs" is a popular saying among sailors. Therefore, we have developed a boat that efficiently releases water, has an adequate length at the waterline for a pleasant hull speed, and is built lightly without becoming unstable. The Henley28 is the first Dutch sloop specifically designed for electric boating.
