Een unieke kans voor liefhebbers van maritiem erfgoed om de authentieke en historische strandreddingboot Jhr. H.J. De Jhr. H.J. Ortt is ontworpen voor het zware reddingswerk vanaf de Nederlandse stranden. Het schip is gebaseerd op een Deens marine-ontwerp en is gebouwd van duurzaam Java-teakhout met eikenhouten spanten. Gedurende haar actieve loopbaan was ze gestationeerd in onder andere IJmuiden, Ameland, Texel en Terschelling. De eerste geregistreerde reddingsactie vond plaats in 1935 bij Wijk aan Zee. Pas in 1990 werd ze uit actieve dienst genomen. In de loop der jaren zijn diverse verbeteringen aangebracht, waaronder een aluminium motorkap. De huidige uitvoering en kleurstelling komen overeen met de staat waarin het schip in 1990 buiten dienst werd gesteld. Het schip heeft groot onderhoud ondergaan en verkeert in uitstekende conditie, wat tevens is vastgesteld door een externe HISWA-expert.
