This Gruno 38 Elite Royal, also known as the Gruno 38 E Royal, is a spacious and solidly built Dutch steel motor yacht with a practical layout, great comfort, and excellent maneuverability. With a length of approximately 12.11 meters, two full-sized cabins, six berths, two private bathrooms, and both an electric bow and stern thruster of 7 kW each, this vessel is well-suited for longer voyages and a comfortable stay on board. The current owners are offering the vessel for sale with mixed feelings. The Gruno was previously used for charter activities. Now that these activities have ended, business obligations leave them no time to use the motor yacht regularly themselves. Instead of leaving the ship largely unused, they wish to give it to a new owner who will once again make full use of the space, comfort, and sailing characteristics. The former charter use explains the approximately 7,900 engine hours, but also meant that the vessel required regular maintenance and inspection. Maintenance invoices and documentation covering the period 2020–2026 are available. The steel multi-chine hull ensures a robust appearance and stable handling. Thanks to the electric bow and stern thrusters, the vessel is highly maneuverable in harbors and locks, even with a small crew. The stated air draft is approximately 2.70 meters with the canopy lowered and approximately 3.70 meters with the canopy raised. This brings a large cruising area within reach. The ship is located in Waltrop on the Dortmund-Ems Canal and can be transferred from its current berth by water to various sailing areas in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and France. On deck, the generous amount of living space is immediately noticeable. Via the wide side decks, you reach the spacious aft and upper deck with the sheltered outdoor helm station. This is equipped with a helm seat, storage space, a convertible canopy with bimini top, and Webasto Air Top 5000 warm air heating. This allows for comfortable sailing even in the early and late seasons. Furthermore, a spare heating unit is included in a box. On the aft deck, there is sufficient space for a table with chairs, and two folding bikes, for example, can be taken along. The extended aft cabin and the spacious swimming platform offer additional usable space and make boarding and disembarking easier. An outdoor shower with hot and cold water is also located on the swimming platform. You reach the bright and spacious saloon via the spiral staircase. The large windows provide plenty of daylight and good all-round visibility. The saloon features various seating options, a dining area, and an open pantry. By pulling out the saloon sofa, two additional berths are created, bringing the total number of berths to six. According to the documentation, the vessel is licensed for a maximum of eight persons. The pantry is equipped with, among other things, a three-burner gas hob renewed in 2022, a fridge with freezer compartment, a combination microwave oven, a sink with hot and cold water, various 230V sockets, and ample cupboard space. Located in the aft section is the owner's cabin, featuring a comfortable double bed, storage space, and a private bathroom with a separate shower and toilet. The forward cabin also features a double bed, wardrobe space, and a private bathroom, where the shower and toilet are separated as well. This allows four people to stay on board comfortably and with plenty of privacy for extended periods. The Gruno is powered by a 128 hp Vetus-Deutz DTA43452A four-cylinder diesel engine, coupled to a reversing gearbox and a traditional propeller shaft. The cruising speed is stated to be approximately 10 to 12 km/h, and the average fuel consumption is around 3 to 3.5 liters per hour, depending on the sailing area, load, and engine speed. The maximum speed is stated to be approximately 15 to 16 km/h. During charter use, the engine is professionally limited to approximately 2,000 revolutions per minute. According to the specifications, the original maximum setting is approximately 2,650 revolutions. Any adjustment to the original setting must be assessed and carried out by an expert. No noticeable smoke development was visible during the cold start at the time of inspection. The engine, gearbox, hydraulic steering, and bow and stern thrusters functioned properly during the inspection. The available technical and comfort equipment includes, among other things, an electric bow and stern thruster of 7 kW each, Webasto Air Top 5000 heating, a Victron MultiPlus Compact 12V battery charger, a Victron inverter for 230V power supply while underway, shore power connection, boiler of approximately 60 liters, depth sounder, speedometer, rudder position indicator, handheld VHF radio, stereo system, gas detector, CO detector, electric bilge pump, navigation lights, windscreen wipers, and various safety equipment. The batteries were renewed in 2022 and consist of two 200 Ah AGM batteries and two Optima batteries. The diesel and freshwater tanks each have a stated capacity of approximately 500 liters. Additionally, according to the owner's statement, the vessel is equipped with separate greywater/wastewater facilities of approximately 180 liters. The wastewater system is equipped with a pump and an outboard shut-off valve. An extensive documentation file is available with the vessel. According to the information provided, this includes maintenance invoices and documentation covering 2020–2026, a valuation report from 2026, an inspection report from June 2026, Category C CE documentation, a German Boat Certificate based on an inspection from 2025, a gas inspection report from March 2025, new fire extinguishers from 2026, ownership and registration documentation, insurance documents, manuals, and technical documentation. According to the available report, the steel thickness in the measured section of the forward plane is approximately 5 mm. According to the owners, no acute technical malfunctions are currently known. However, we transparently point out a few visible areas of concern. The hull shows signs of wear consistent with age and use. The superstructure and upper deck are well painted and were painted by the owner himself, but are not in concours cosmetic condition. The convertible top is slightly soiled and requires professional cleaning. Light traces of condensation are visible in places, but no leaks were detected during the inspection. A buyer should also take into account the mentioned engine limiter at approximately 2,000 rpm. This Gruno 38 Elite Royal is immediately available and, as listed, ready to sail.
