Description
If you're looking for a sturdy and distinctive vessel with plenty of space and an open cockpit, you'll quickly find yourself looking for a Barkas. However, if you're looking for reliability and solidity, you'll have to separate the wheat from the chaff, as countless Barkas have been built, not all of which achieved the high quality level that designer Huitema aimed for. Therefore, only a few shipyards were ultimately permitted to build this timeless vessel. Jachtwerf Bouma from Harlingen was among that select group and built AMUSANT in 1999. The vessel was delivered with double-glazed windows and all the usual options, such as a bow thruster, anchor winch, bathroom with shower, owner's cabin with a French bed, and a spacious saloon containing the galley. Typical features of the Barkas include the guest cabin?partially located below the saloon floor?and the generous cockpit.
This ship is now in the possession of its second owner, who has maintained it excellently and modernized it as needed. Cleanliness is paramount, so even in the engine room, you could eat off the floor!
