Description
The Bever was built by Remy Verras of the shipyard Moed en Trouw in Walsoorden. The type is a Philippine schouw, developed by R. Verras after the model of the wooden mussel schouwen of the village Philippine in Zeeuws Vlaanderen. Verras eventually built only four of these yachts with lengths between 7 and 8.5m and the Bever is the most beautiful of the four! The ship is registered in the studbook under no. 1182 and there is some information available about it.

The Bever is a very nice all-round family boat that I sailed the water thin with for 16 years, mainly on the Westerschelde but just as well I sailed with her to the centre of Ghent and from Amsterdam, went to Friesland and to the Wadden. I am selling her because I have bought a large botter with which I want to sail with groups. I have sailed the Bever both with the family and alone, for which the little boat is also perfectly suited.
The Bever is in good order and has always been neatly maintained since new. I would like to see her end up with a next owner who can take care of her and enjoy her.
Known defects
Normal state of maintenance, everything has been painted and varnished recently, some spots of wood and steelwork need to be followed up and locally touched up. Diesel heater in cabin does not work because the tank was removed. Winter cover tent is gradually due for replacement. Acoustic insulation of engine could be better. Cable of negative pole starter battery is now with a car starter cable, should still be connected permanently. Pennant in mast top is missing. Furthermore no known defects and no expected major costs, just maintain well as with any ship.
