Description
The Asmus Hanseat 35 MS (where MS stands for Motorsegler or motor sailer) is a classic, extremely solidly built quality yacht from the German shipyard Asmus Yachtbau. The vessel was designed by Willy Asmus and built between the 1970s and 1980s. It is known as a seaworthy, reliable, and comfortable 'cabin yacht' that combines the advantages of a powerful motor sailer with the good sailing characteristics of a traditional sailing yacht.
General characteristics and handling
- Robust construction : Built from thick, hand-laid glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP). This makes the hull virtually indestructible and impervious to heavy wave action.
- Sheltered steering : Thanks to the semi-open or enclosed wheelhouse (the so-called geschützte Steuerhaus ), you, as skipper, stay warm and dry during bad weather conditions.
- Stable position : Due to the hull shape and ballast concept, the ship has a calm and predictable movement in the water, which is ideal for longer sea voyages or coastal navigation, and thanks to the keel-centerboard configuration, many sailing areas are accessible.
